2011 Ride for Kids Events Begin and End in Florida
Ride for Kids is a non-profit program, started in 1984, that supports the efforts of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (PBTF), the official charity of the Honda Riders Club of America (HRCA). Ride for Kids events occur in 40 US cities and have resulted in more than $50 million being raised for pediatric brain tumor research. The program also serves as an educational support program for patients, their families, and the medical community.
Florida motorcyclists who participate in the fundraising efforts earn premiums such as event pins, t-shirts, and embroidered jackets. The more money you raise, the more you earn. There are also drawings for a Honda Motorcycle, AGV helmet, Cardo Scala Rider, Dunlop tires, and Tourmaster luggage.
This year’s fundraising efforts are being jump started with an April 3rd road ride in Deerfield Beach and an April 9th road ride in Jacksonville, Florida. Other rides throughout the year range from California to Texas to New York, with the year’s final ride being scheduled for the Tampa Bay area on November 6th.
