If you are not already making your plans for the Sturgis 2011 Motorcycle rally, then you had better get your ass in gear, well unless you got a boatload of cash to spend for a motel because in case you didn’t know sleeping in doors during the Black Hill Motorcycle Classic costs buku bucks…well not if you are just planning to rough it and crash in tent in one of the many affordable campgrounds in and around Sturgis.
I don’t know about you, but i will be spending most of my time at the Legendary Buffalo Chip taking part in their 30th year celebration! If you made it to the 2010 event then you already know that the Buffalo Chip had the biggest nonstop party with musical acts: ZZ Top, Kid Rock, OZZY, and many many more top bands.. the Kid Rock show was the biggest and best show, packing in over 100,000 people, so you can only guess that there is no way the fine people at the Buffalo Chip are going to do anything else but kick ass and take names with their 30th year celebration!
Yeah I know what you are thinking; you’re gonna need some serious cash to be able to afford a motel, concert tickets, food, and don’t forget beer, and more beer! But what if you could get in to the Buffalo Chip for free? Oh yeah, after the BAM girls and I got back from the 2010 bash the first thing that Audrey did was pick up a bunch of all access passes to the 2011 Buffalo Chip celebration. So all you gotta do to win 2 free passes is check out her blog article here!
Thousands of bikers converge on the Buffalo Chip every year making it the third largest city in South Dakota during the rally. And with the great entertainment available at the Buffalo Chip why would you stay anywhere else. Music, stunts, zip line, etc etc. And in Sturgis you can’t top the entertainment lineup of the Buffalo Chip. You can stay and camp where you party – Can’t get better then that!
I myself, am not a tent camper per say so I go for the RV package available through the Buffalo Chip.  It’s cheaper then any hotel, I am at the hot spot of the rally and have my own shower and bathroom.
The Buffalo Chip offers daily admission passes as well as package rates including the per person rally pass ($255) August 9-15, the per person extended rally pass ($300) August 7-15 or the per person early bird pass ($335) August 2-15. EZ Camp passes range from $100 to $640, RV rentals range from $2145 to $2445 and RV sites range from $100 to $550.
Whatever you do, don’t wait till the last minute to make your arrangements, because if you do it is gonna cost ya 3 or 4 times more!
