Los Angeles, California: I honestly believe motorcycles are the best medicine and the International Motorcycle Show in Long Beach, California this month was a good dose of Motorcycle Therapy!
So much good stuff to look at with so many good people and it’s all in one place. Love that! I was thrilled to attend the media promo day, along with attending the show which is dubbed to be the nation’s largest and longest-running powersports show tour. Before the show opens to the public, the media is invited to get an exclusive preview as several new motorcycles made their North American debut. My fellow journalist and TV commentators’ eye balled the latest from Victory, BMW, Ducati, Honda, Harley-Davidson, Triumph, and Yamaha. So much to look at, in so little time as my colleagues gather around new bikes like kids in a candy store. One of the many things I really enjoy about the IMS show is the diversity of the show with so much to offer. From seasoned veterans to newbies to bikes of all shapes and sizes, along with the latest in aftermarket parts and accessories their sure is something for everyone.
I was surprised how many people battled the Los Angeles Friday traffic in the middle of holiday duties to attend the first night when it opened to the public. If you’ve been to LA you know what I’m talking about. The weekend crowd was no slouch either. A steady sturdy crowd cruised the aisles and confirmed regardless of the economy people need to ride. Motorcycle Lawyer Russ Brown and his team was in full swing and where I hung out often and watched the BAM team explain the BAM free legal and roadside assistance program. I also spied on Russ hee hee. It blew my mind how many people wanted to just stop over to thank him for help. Beside the FREE roadside assistance program he started he certainly has lived up to the old school ways of Bikers really helping Bikers.
I think one of the best things of the show is the accessibility to speak to so many experts. Get firsthand knowledge right from the source, along with seeing the latest offerings. The IMS Shows have it all! Next up is the International Motorcycle Show in Seattle this weekend, then Novi, Michigan, Washington and New York City in the New Year.
Attending the show sure did me a world of good.
Hope to see you on the road and at a show!
