Indian Motorcycle Co. just introduced their 2015 Indian Scout at a star-studded event on Saturday night in Sturgis, SD. This 100 horsepower motorcycle is the lightest in its class, and the Indian Scout’s engine truly sets it apart from the rest. The 69-inch V-Twin engine is liquid cooled and boasts a 72.2 lb-ft torque at 5900 rpm. This engine designs gives the Scout its signature look and the new bike is truly a sight to behold.
While the engine may give the Indian its power, the sleek design is what makes the Scout so attractive. It sports a low seat height that makes it a great bike for any sized biker and its cast aluminum frame means that this bike is light—and fast. It has just a 558-lb claimed curb weight–yet can produce 100 horsepower! Best yet, at under $11,000 this bike is affordable for virtually any rider.
Bikers who are attending the 2014 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally this week will be able to test ride the new 2015 Indian Scout at the Indian Motorcycle Demo Experience on I-90 @ Exit 30 in Sturgis now through August 9th.
2015 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Unveiled at Sturgis
In addition to the Indian Scout, Harley-Davidson is re-launching its 2015 Road Glide and Road Glide Special following a yearlong production hiatus. The newer models will be unveiled and on display at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally this week and motorcyclists can test-drive these beautiful bikes between August 4th and August 10th.
The updated modeled Road Glide is powered by twin cam 103 V-Twin engines and will come with new LED headlamps, cruise control, and modified ergonomic hand controls. While the Road Glide retains at just under $21,000, these updated classic bikes offer a unique riding experience.
The Road Glide Special will feature some premium upgrades, including a GT touchscreen infotainment screen, GPS navigation, reflex linked brakes, and hand-adjustable low-profile rear suspension. This state-of-the-art bike is available in customized colors and factory pin striping.
2015 Roadmaster Unveiled at Sturgis
Polaris is taking advantage of the highly publicized Sturgis Motorcycle Rally to unveil their new 2015 Roadmaster. This bike combines a truly antique design and luxury riding into one sleek package. The Roadmaster uses a 111 cubic inch Thunderstroke engine and comes with upgraded features, including keyless ignition, anti-lock brakes, cruise control, and tire pressure systems. The classic bike hopes to become a family bike that allows couples to cruise the open road together and retails at just under $27,000.
