Personal Injury Attorney Blog; Suzanne from West Linn, Oregon shares her story of how learning to ride her own helped her to develop her confidence, which is something I hear from a lot of women motorcycle riders. Here is more from Suzanne…
Name: Suzanne Foster, age 47
Location: West Linn, Oregon (10 miles south of Portland)
Occupation: Real Estate Broker/Realtor 17 years
Currently rides: Suzuki 800 Marauder
When did you start riding?
Passenger in high school and this summer, my own bike & endorsement.
What got you involved in motorcycles and how did you start?
In high school we had a Yamaha Special 750. Then revisited 3 years ago when I started dating Jeff Ellis. He put me on the back of a Harley for the first time.
How has riding motorcycles impacted your life?
Surviving the divorce of a 20-year marriage, it built my confidence up that had diminished.
What has been your biggest challenge with riding?
Learning to use a clutch again.
What do you like most about your model motorcycle?
Nothing particular. This is a starter bike. I’d like to get a Street Bob or American Ironhorse.
What modifications have you made?
None, yet
When you’re not riding motorcycles what are you other interest?
Working out in the gym & cooking.
What advice do you have for other women riders?
Just do it!
How tall are you?
What is your weather like year round?
Oregon is beautiful summer no humidity and 70’s. Mainly year round steady at 60’s. Rain in winter, no snow
How is riding therapy for you?
Nothing better than plugging in the tunes and heading out for the country roads after a day of work.
Although I’ve never ridden with tunes plugged in and I suppose I’m too much of a gear-head who enjoys the sound of a throaty exhaust … I sure can relate to the joy of heading out on a country road.
Get out and ride it’s good for ya!
Ride ON,
Brenda Fox
