This article comes to us from Krit Campbell in Connecticut.  Krit is an amazing biker friend and she wrote this article cause she is a product whore ( look in your shower and if there are more than 10 bottles of shampoo, conditioner and other bathing products in there, then YES, you are considered a product whore!).  If anyone can help a fellow female biker know what’s important to pack it’s Krit.

by Krit Campbell,
I got a call from an old friend the other day, who was getting ready for her 1st overnight bike adventure on her new Harley, and she wanted some packing advice. Knowing the product whore I am, she figured she’d ask me what to bring. For those who aren’t familiar with the term, a product whore is easily explained: look in your shower and if there are more than 10 bottles of shampoo, conditioner and other bathing products in there, then YES, you are considered a product whore!

I have had to pack for multi-day trips on my Sporty with no saddlebags, so I can tell you from personal experience- it is tough. By the time you get your rain gear, and other necessities packed, there is no room for the girly shit we want to pack to look good. Let’s face it, we love to hang with the boys, but NEVER do we want to look or smell like one, so to combat this- we need to pack smart.

Here are some multi use items I never leave on a trip without:

VASELINE: (NO- not for any of that you perverts!) Seriously, this is the best stuff ever made for travel! Here are a few things I use it for; put on lashes- skipping mascara, put on face, hands, etc., to moisturize and protect from all elements, as a lip-gloss, to remove make-up, cheek highlighter, brow tamer, put on top of your perfume to make scent last longer, treat scalp sunburn (I am Irish so I know!), tame split ends, and you can use it to condition all of your leathers.

VISENE: Get the red out- of eyes and/or blemishes; goes without saying, but I use it to turn eye shadow into eyeliner too.

Q-TIPS: Putting on liner, and making disposable lip and eye color swabs stored in Ziploc bags- so your cosmetics don’t get smashed on the trip, because that sucks!!!

BABY POWDER: If you are like me and tend to wake up hung-over and late, just sprinkle Baby Powder on your roots, brush and go- it is the main ingredient in dry shampoo. Use it to thicken lashes before mascara or Vaseline, or transform any lipstick from glossy to matte. Sprinkle on rough, hot, or humid hotel sheets, for instant relief. It also helps dry out wet boots, should you get caught in the rain.

So, those are my top picks for staying somewhat glam on the road. Hope it helps!

Next month, the chronicles of my own 1st Custom Bike Build, a Bobber with a 1977 Shovelhead engine. I plan to do everything, except the wiring, by myself, so we will see how that goes! God Help Joe Biker ;0)

Ride Safe-
