Motorcyclists Prepare to Spread Christmas Cheer

Most gatherings of bikers during the year have a charity theme. Often these events charge for entry, asking instead for a voluntary gift for someone in need. Although it doesn’t really need to be the holiday season for bikers to congregate for a good cause, Christmas just seems to bring out the Santa in even the toughest biker, and motorcycle clubs all over the country are busy organizing their toy runs. Toy runs provide an opportunity to bring Christmas cheer to someone in need and allow everyone to see bigheartedness of bikers.

Here are a few of the biggest events.

Oceanside, California: The 26th annual Toys for Tots Ride will leave Oceanside, California on November 23rd. The event is one of the best and longest running toy runs in the state.

Sacramento, California: The 11th Annual Renegade Classics Santa Claus Toy Run will take place in Lincoln on November 23th. A new unwrapped toy and $20 lets you participate in Sacramento’s largest toy run. Registered riders get free breakfast, T-shirt and buffet lunch. Thunder Valley Casino Resort  1200 Athens Ave  Lincoln, CA.

Beaumont, Texas: The 15th Annual Blue Santa Toy Run will kick off on November 30th in Beaumont, Texas. The toy run, and scavenger hunt are a blast and all proceeds benefit the Beaumont Police Department Blue Santa Program.

The run has a live auction, raffles, an escorted 20-mile “country” ride, great bbq, sleigh rides and Santa and Mrs. Claus. Participants get to meet and personally hand out gifts to recipients.

St. Petersburg, Florida: Also on December 1st, the 26th Annual Jim Rosenkrans’ Memorial Toy Run will take place in St. Petersburg. Event organizers will collect new unwrapped toys as an entrance fee and canned food in exchange for a commemorative drink koozie. The ride will end at Jim’s Harley-Davidson where participants will enjoy free food, live music and cold beer.

Macon, Georgia: Harley-Davidson of Macon, Georgia will host the Hepzibah Children’s Home Toy Run on December 7th. This annual toy run open to all bikers requests a $20 gift card for entry. Participants will enjoy an escorted ride to the Hepzibah Children’s Home and free lunch.

Bakersfield, California: The 30th Annual Bakersfield Toy Run to benefit the Salvation Army will begin on December 8th this year. Entry fee is one unwrapped new toy and one non-perishable food item. The ride is one of the best in Southern California.

With so many toy runs across the country, it won’t be hard to find one in your area. You don’t even have to ride to participate. Your donation of cash or a new toy will bring tremendous joy to someone in need this holiday season.
