The Progressive International Motorcycle Show visited Long Beach, California this last weekend (Nov 12-16)– and of course, we were there!
Free motorcycle parking and gear check at the Long Beach convention center brought thousands of motorcycles to the show. Hundreds of exhibitors brought their new products, and best and brightest custom bikes for attendees to inspect.  There were too many cool exhibitors to name. Big manufacturers like Harley Davidson, Indian Motorcycles, Ducati North America, BMW, Kawasaki, Yamaha Motors, Honda Powersports, and Suzuki, had sprawling sections of the hall covered in bikes. Touratech USA brought their new helmets and shocks for people to inspect, too. Progressive Insurance had their Lumilor light-painted custom bike on display. Triumph America paired up with British Customs, displaying stock models next to highly custom purpose-built bikes. Smaller custom shops and booths featured local companies like Speed Merchant, Moto Chop Shop, California Highway Patrol, California Heat Heated Clothing, SoCal Supermoto, and so many more. Attendees also enjoyed a variety of food and drink options, a stunt show by the Jason Britton’s ‘No Limit’ stunt team, and the Progressive School of Rock Stage that featured teenagers playing classic rock very, very well. R. Lee Ermey (most notably the drill Seargent from Full Metal Jacket) hung out at Victory Motorcycles signing autographs and taking photos with fans. Sunday was family day, meaning kids 11 years and under got in free!
Our BAM Eagle Girl visited riders, offering signups for our free national roadside assistance program.

Here are some photographic highlights.

Indian Scout

During the show, the folks over at Indian Motorcycles would fire up their stock Indian Scout on the Dyno, filling the huge room with deep throaty revs through every gear. There’s nothing quite like hearing a big v-twin fired up and revved in doors.

BMW RnineT Roland Sands Custom

BMW RnineT Roland Sands Custom

One of the most visually appealing motorcycle displays of the whole event was the BMW R nineT custom from Roland Sands Design. The platform slowly rotated, allowing viewers to easily get a full 360° view. The R nineT is their highly customizable new retro-modern bike, appealing to younger riders.

Vintage Indian Motorcycle

Vintage Indian Motorcycle at the Antique Club of America Booth

The Antique Motorcycle Club of America brought along some of their beautiful antiques, including this vintage Indian, and a Harley Davidson from the Motorcycle Cannonball. Unfortunately the [well deserved] fence around the booth makes photos very difficult.

Triumph shows off their Gary Nixon tribute Triumph racer. Gary (1941 – 2011) raced as a member of the Triumph Factory racing team and won the AMA Grand National Championship in 1967 and 1968.

Geico Green bobber motorcycle

Geico also brought custom bikes, like the Geico-green custom bobber above, with white leather seat and branded drive belt.
Honda commemorated the Goldwing with the “Gromwing”- a Honda Grom with a Goldwing paintjob.

And of course, Kawasaki brought the Ninja H2R in it’s beautiful black chrome glory.

In the aisles amongst the bigger displays sat a variety of custom bikes from all sorts of different shops nationwide. Bobbers, cafe racers, stunt and drag bikes, all traveling to every IMS show for the J&P Cycles Ultimate Builder Competition Bike Show, kicked off at the 2014 Sturgis Rally.
