California bikers come together to hunt careless driver.
On September 28, the driver of a 4-door Silver Toyota Tundra forced California Highway Patrol Officer, Lincoln McKenna, off the road. California drivers that witnessed the California motorcycling accident say the driver was exhibiting reckless behavior before causing the CHP officer to run off the road and into a pole. The severely injured officer has undergone various surgeries in an attempt to recover from the devastating California motorcycling incident. Some witnesses have come forth, and Mr. McKenna was even able to share some details, but to date, the driver remains at large!

On Thursday, October 14th, the Fresno Police put out a flashing Caltrans sign at the exact location of the crash (Herndon near Palm Avenue). Their hope is that the sign will help remind California drivers of the incident, jog memories of the event itself, or make someone aware of the search for the driver of the Silver Toyota Tundra.

Sadly, this is just another example of the dangers associated with driving a motorcycle in California’s heavily congested traffic. Even with the expert driving of a skilled CHP officer, this accident was unavoidable, and made worse by the fleeing of the other party of the accident.

When riding your motorcycle, always remain alert and aware of the changing traffic around you. On congested California freeways, hurried and often-distracted drivers often overlook motorcyclists. By driving defensively and remaining constantly aware of your surroundings, you can help to ensure your safety and the safety of those around you.
