Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys®: Last September, Brandon Wright was riding his motorcycle near the Utah State campus when a horrific motorcycle accident changed his life. One minute he was riding along enjoying the beautiful day and the next minute he was pinned beneath a car with one cheek on an exhaust pipe and the other on the pavement. A few minutes later, his bike caught fire and everything went black for Wright. Twelve witnesses who saw the accident rushed to his aid and pulled him from the burning wreck; they saved his life. He suffered a fracture in his right leg and burns on his left leg, but he escaped the accident without a life-threatening injury, thanks in large part to the heroic bystanders.

Now, Wright is taking motorcycle safety into his own hands. He recently spoke at a group gathered for Motorcycle Awareness Month and urged all drivers to be extra careful on the roads. He has even teamed up with the Utah Department of Public Safety for their fifth annual DRIVE AWARE, RIDE AWARE safety campaign. Last year, 28 motorcyclists were killed on Utah roads and sadly, many of those motorcycle accidents could have been prevented.

Wright is advising all motorcyclists to take safety matters into their own hands and take a motorcycle training course. This alone can help them avoid potentially life-changing motorcycle accidents. As for riding his motorcycle in the future—Brandon says he will absolutely be riding again. In fact, Wright plans on getting back on his bike in the near future, and when he does so, it will be after a motorcycle safety course.
