Meet your ABATE of California’s Legislative Director, Bobby Tabaldo. Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys has been a supporter of ABATE since day 1. In 1971, Easyriders magazine editor, Lou Kimsey, called for bikers to join a new national organization called the National Custom Cycle Organization to fight impending restrictions. Its name was changed to A Brotherhood Against Totalitarian Enactments (ABATE) in 1972. ABATE began granting state charters in 1974 and Keith Ball was the original national coordinator. In 1981, Deacon Dave Phillips broke away and took over the founding charter of the original ABATE. He changed the name to American Brotherhood Aimed Towards Education, then back to ABATE of California. Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys is credited as being one of the original founders and supporters of ABATE.
